This is a notable day to start a blog on Deviant. This day I go "pro". In terms of sculpting at least :) Together with my friend http://tarrom.deviantart.com/ we made a studio - MyWay Miniatures, designed a web-store and today, finally, it's open for everyone! It was a challenging task: designing a web site, filling its content - is something we never done before. But we made it! It's not much, but It's a start. Feel free to visit http://mywayminiatures.com/ and grab something you fancy ;)

Thank you, I appreciate that.

I've been making and selling miniatures for over 4 years now. At times I've managed to make a living and at times the mere idea of a minimum wage sounds like a rich mans world.

I don't want to turn you away from your dreams, but it is or can be difficult. Make sure you have at least a secure part time job before embarking on a career of producing and selling miniatures. Prepare for expensive mistakes in failed moulds, lost post where you have to pay for and re-send packages, insults and competitors that are quicker than you that would jump onto any bandwagon you happen to create that seems popular.

My simple advice to start off with would be to initially sell your miniatures to other companies, take on commissions. In your own time make a set of miniatures, get a mould made and sell the casts privately on FB or something to get a little bit of experience. Dip your toe in before taking the plunge.

Good luck!
Thanks, but I've been running my own studio for about 3 years now and I know how it feels =) It's just the scale I'm new to. I only worked with 1:60 - 1:64 and larger scales before and I have troubles persuading my partner about 15mm perspectives. It's a somewhat unexplored segment of hobby market for me that's why I'm excited to find someone effectively working with it.
Great job, again!
Well you coulda mentioned that! Coming on over as if I'm supplying you with extra bit of drive needed to go fuck it and do what you want!!! I'll have to take a look at your 1:60 work.
That's just how good Deviant's layout can be with hiding stuff =) Some of my "28mm" are in my gallery if you wish.
Mahalo for the :+fav:... :D
Thanks so much for the Watch!
